Whalers

What hockey fan doesn't have a soft spot in their heart for the Hartford Whalers?

Fantastic!! Hey Rob, continuing along the nostalgic theme, could you *please* draw a model wearing a Winnipeg Jets jersey??

Love your illustrations and your blog.

I gotta commission you to do an Oilers girl. Edmonton's a college town, full of clever tipsy girls, if that helps.

Props to you for using a sweater with Pucky the Whale on the shoulder. Well done.

(I would have also accepted the girl in Cooperalls with the sweater tied up in a half-shirt!)

I love anything Hartford Whalers related, so this pin-up girl in a classic Whalers jersey is awesome in my book. However, the logo on the jersey the girl is wearing is incorrect. That is actually the 1992-1997 logo, in white and without the silver background. During these years the Whalers did not wear green jerseys. During their green jersey years (1979-1992), their logo was indeed white on the green jerseys, but it had a differently shaped whale tail, and the center vertical line in the W was shorter. Somewhat subtle differences, but very obvious to hardcore Whalers fans like myself. Since you're an artist you will notice the differences in shape between the 1979-1992 logo and the 1992-1997 logo right away. Both of these logos appear on the following site:

Definitely need a Winnepeg girl and how about a Quebec Nordique girl, maybe wearing a beret?

A Nordiques girl is imminent, as it's one of my top five fave jerseys ever...it's just a matter of findin' the time!
